Welcome to Department of Chemistry, BUET

The Department of Chemistry at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) provides an excellent environment for academic and research pursuits in chemistry. As one of BUET’s most research-active departments, it is recognized internationally for both teaching and research excellence. With around 20 dedicated faculty members, the department offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs (M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D.), covering core areas such as inorganic, organic, analytical, and physical chemistry. Specialized fields including environmental chemistry, nanoscience, polymer chemistry, and organometallic chemistry are also explored. Collaborations with other departments further enrich learning and research opportunities, leading graduates to successful careers in industries, academia, and top-ranked universities worldwide.
