Dr. Abu Bin Imran is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka-1000. Dr. Imran received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from the Department of Chemistry, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh. He completed his Doctor of Engineering degree from the Department of Molecular Design and Engineering of Nagoya University, Nagoya, Japan. Dr. Imran worked as a Researcher in New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) project, Nagoya University, Nagoya, Japan for around three years. He also served as Designated Assistant professor in Nagoya University, Nagoya, Japan. He received the award of Material Back casting Technology (MBT) center research encouragement in 2010. He already published many peer-reviewed articles in different high impact journals. His research focus in the area of polymer based soft materials (hydrogels and elastomers), colloids and nanomaterials, nano-biocomposite, self-assemble system, conducting and semiconducting materials, photo-chemistry, click Chemistry and application of synthesized smart materials into sensor, energy and environmental remedy.
